Planting tree in Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz to Host Tree Planting with Iranian Couple Cycling Around the World for Peace & Environmental Conservation
Dear friends,
Nasim Yousefi and Jafar Edrisi sold many of their possessions in Iran over a year ago to fund their cycling journey of spreading a message of peace and environmental conservation around the world. They have traveled through many countries and have planted over 42 peace trees so far. City by city, they are planting a green belt of peace and friendship around the world.
I would like to invite you to join us and celebrate peace and environmental stewardship on Thursday, 10 July, at Depot Park for a tree-planting ceremony at 11 a.m., followed by a reception at noon. Food and beverages will be provided by Cyclists for Cultural Exchange, organizers of the annual Strawberry Fields Forever bicycle ride. Guests are invited to arrive at the event on bicycle, although there is some parking available for those who need to drive. Depot Park is at 119 Center Street, about a block up from the Santa Cruz Wharf.
For more information, contact Matthew Werner at mrwerner@mcn.org, or 831.427.3153.
