The Tehran couple, Somayeh Yousefi and Jafar Edrisi, began their odyssey in Iran in July 2007, after they sold many of their possessions to fund their journey to spread a message of peace. They are planting trees in each country they visit.
So far they have visited and planted trees in Iran, Turkey, Greece, Italy, France, Belgium, Germany Holland, Canada and the U.S.
Here they have visited Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. They arrived in Seattle this week after a stop in Spokane, and are resting for the next leg of their trip in Japan. Final destinations are Korea, China, Nepal, India, and Pakistan.
The tree will grow in Discovery Park as a tribute to Yousefi and Edrisi and their message of peace and environmental conservation. For more information about their trip, please see http://www.rmc4peace.com or call Saeed Hashimi at 206-721-4848
