Cycling around the world for Peace

Friends and travel mates, greetings to you all

At the moment, we are in Wilmington, North Carolina. In spite of the unusual snow and cold weather in most countries (especially Iran) and the difficulties that it has brought in with; we are enjoying the warm 30 degree Centigrade temperature (86F) at the outer banks of North Carolina. The one thing that I have to mention, and that is the tornado that hit some of south central states of US, created a tropical wind that at times exceeded 35 Km per hour, this made our pedaling very difficult or impossible on some occasions. So far we have planted three peace trees in North Carolina State and one more will be planted in the morning, here in Wilmington. We also have had great and interesting experiences that wished we were able to record and share it with you guys; however we plan to write about them in our book.
We learned that our web site (www.rmc4peace.com) was down for few days and with our friend’s help, we were able to re set the site and bring it up. We received many emails from our shipmates on this journey that were concern of our well being. I want to state to all of you that we are all fine and miss you guys.
While we were staying in Virginia Beach, Virginia; we were able to have a meeting with some of Hampton University students as well as the faculties and discuss our mission and goals.
We are going to return to Virginia Beach on Sunday, February 17, 2008 after our presentation at the campus of Virginia Tech (VPI&SU) in Blacksburg, VA that is planned for Saturday the 16th.
On Wednesday 20th of February, we will be at the ODU campus at 5 PM, on following day at Virginia Wesleyan College Campus and several other meetings in between. These activities would have not been possible without the helps of our good friends in Virginia Beach, Norfolk (Tidewater) area.
While in North Carolina, we performed and attended similar functions and made many friends.
On Wednesday February 6th, we were able to plant a tree near the coastal town of Top Soil, NC and visit the (injured) animal hospital. On Thursday, the following day we planted two trees simultaneously in Top Soil, NC. We also visited the Turtle Hospital. The complete report will be published soon
